So the best part about this trip is that it was during the National Park week--no park entrance fees! So we got into Zion's and the Grand Canyon for free! We totally lucked out! (The only downside to this is that there were so many Asian tourists)
On our way to the Grand Canyon from St. George, we stopped in Zion's National Park. It was a pretty hot day, but we survived and had fun hiking. We only stayed in Zion's for a couple hours as we were just passing through.
We first walked the riverside trail (or something like that). It's a very easy trail. We liked it because it was in the shade most of the time and next to this pretty river.
Weston climbed up this huge rock!
We drove through this awesome tunnel that goes right through the mountain. It was constructed in 1930 and is 1.1 miles long! It was very impressive for being built so long ago.
Our final hike was the canyon overlook. It was so cool! I had never seen the canyon from this high before but it was awesome!
After Zion's we stopped at Lake Powell, the Dam, and Horseshoe bend.
Horseshoe bend is about a 10-15 min walk from the highway, but it is way pretty!
That looked like so much fun! I've never been & these pictures are gorgeous! The hubby & I are planning a trip to Yellowstone, can't wait!
ReplyDeleteZion's is pretty, but yellowstone is way cooler! We were there last summer and it is awesome! I'm sure you guys will enjoy it!!!
