Ellie is 5 months old!

It's true, you are 5 months old!

Say what???

You are about 13 pounds now, which is the 11th percentile. Yay! You are growing! You are wearing size 2 diapers (we love the Luvs!) and some 3 month clothes and some 3-6 months. Your bottom teeth have broken through your sweet baby gums. Mommy wasn't expecting them to come so quickly, so you surely surprised us! Here is the best pic I have of them to date:

Shortly after turning 5 months old last Wednesday, you and I got pretty sick with some nasty cold virus. So, it's been a long couple of days for you and mommy. Hopefully we will both get better soon, although you rock a goopey eye and runny nose like nobody's business. And your cough is just adorabley sad. But we'll get through this together!

We started rice cereal a couple weeks ago and should be introducing some other solid foods soon. Going to wait until we all feel better. You love talking when it is quiet and you are so observant when it's noisy... which makes our quiet church meetings a little difficult to sit through! You still haven't rolled from your back to your belly yet, but you are really really close and I know you'll get there soon. You LOVE your feet these days. It's kind of the cutest thing when you try to eat them. Mommy just loves it. You really like standing and sitting up. You are getting better at sitting by yourself everyday. 

You have become quite the giggler. You laugh at mom's silly faces, noises, dances, songs, kisses and well just about anything mom does. You are now starting to really like your daddy, too. He puts you to sleep easier, calms you, sings you different songs, lets you watch basketball, plays with you, kisses you, etc. You are starting to notice how awesome your dad is! This is perfect timing too because it was technically dad's first real Father's day yesterday.

Unfortunately, You and mommy were both sick on Father's day, so we didn't have the energy or strength to pamper daddy, like we are "supposed" to do. Well, like the good daddy he is, Weston sacrificed his special day to take care of the two of us. He was up with you multiple times during the night on Saturday, he came home early from church to take care of you while mommy taught Young Womens, and he took care of you most of the day so mommy could rest. Your daddy is amazing, Ellie. You and I are both so blessed to have him! (And we really hope he doesn't get this virus!)

Sorry Weston, I cut your head off! 

Well, I love you so much, Ells. Hopefully we will both feel better soon so we can get back into our daily routine. Keep growing my sweet baby!
