You are 8 months old!

Dear Ellie,

You are 8 months old!

Who me?

We weighed you the other day and you were 16 pounds 5 oz! You are getting so big so fast, it makes me happy and a little sad at the same time. You are wearing 9 month jammies now and you are still mostly wearing 6 month clothes and size 3 diapers. A lot of your headbands are getting a little tight on your head, which means I should be making more soon!

You are a teething monster. The last week, you have been pretty cranky compared to how you normally are. I blame it on your top two teeth that are coming in. The one on your right cut through the other day, so now we are just waiting for your other one to come in. Hopefully it will cut through soon so we can get over this cranky baby stage!

You sleep pretty well most nights. You sometimes wake up once during the night, but it seems like you sleep through the night most of the time. We usually let you whine or cry in your crib until you fall asleep, but lately you have been skipping the whining and just fall asleep. Sometimes talking to your self.

You are crawling. Well that's an overstatement, you are army crawling. You pull your self wherever you want to go with your arms and push off with your little toes. Haven't quite figured out how to use those knees. My favorite is when you crawl to me to give me hugs and kisses. It's like the cutest thing... You give me a hug by snuggling me with your little body, then you open your mouth as wide as you can and place it either on my mouth or on my cheek. Love it! You won't always give kisses when we ask, but I just melt when you do it without me prompting you at all! You also give yourself kisses in the mirror.

We took a trip to Utah this month. We drove there with Papa and Nana Williams, Breena, Kolby, and Katelyn and flew back with Grandma and Grandpa Kunz, Mauren, TJ, Jacob, and Weston. You did pretty well in the car until the last hour of each day, where you just lost it. But we survived and don't have to do that again any time soon. We'll fly both ways next time for sure. We had so much fun in Utah, it was a great vacation. We sure loved the soft Utah grass and cool evenings!

Happy 27th Birthday Daddy!

While Nana and Pappa were still in Utah, we got to play with Kolby every day for like 2 weeks! It was so fun to have Kolby here. You would get so excited everytime you saw him. He convinced me to get the racecar shopping cart at HEB. Ellie, you barely fit in the cart! I buckled you in tight so you wouldn't slip out. You seemed to really love sitting in the big kid cart! (And it wasn't as hard to push as I was expecting).

You LOVE eating solids. You still love your vegetables, especially carrots, but you will also eat bananas, raspberries (most days) and applesauce. We started using a sippy cup with a straw and you already have got the hang of it! It's so much easier than me plugging the straw to get you some water from my cup. You still nurse about 4-5 times a day but usually for 10 mins or less. You have been wanting to nurse more since you are teething and I usually give in.
